PROVISION OF SIX (6) WATER BOREHOLES IN OBOWO LGA, IMO STATE
Obowo is a Local Government Area (L.G.A) of Imo State, Nigeria, and is headquartered in Otoko. Other towns in the LGA include Amanze Umuagu, Umungwa, Umulogho, Odenkwume, Okwuohia, Amuzi, Alike, Avutu and Umuokeh. Obowo is located about 45 minutes from Owerri, the Imo State capital. The area is right across the Imo River and is less than 30 minutes from Umuahia, the Abia State capital, and Ahiara in opposite directions. The major occupation of the people are farming and fishing.
This area is characterized by the dangerous and difficult terrain walked to get water. For instance, the indigenes of Amuzi community fetch drinking water from worm infested spring, walking about 1 kilometer.

For this reason, Arm of Hope Fondation has already constructed and commissioned nineteen (19) water boreholes which serve as the only sources of clean and safe drinking water for the benefitting communities in Obowo Local Government Area.
However, the communities in Obowo urgently need Six (6) more water boreholes in order to effectively solve the safe drinking water problem in the community, as the Nineteen (19) drilled boreholes are not sufficient enough to serve the communities.
Arm of Hope Foundation is proposing to construct and commission Six (6) more water boreholes for different communities in Obowo Local Government Area.
